Proud As A Peacock!

Goodness but I'm late with my post today! My apologies for this but I hope you'll think that it's better late than never.....
Challenge #79 at CACB is Animals or Birds - no people or insects for this one. I decided to use the Peacock digi stamp and thoroughly enjoyed myself colouring it in. The papers are from Trad-temporary Christmas (the large one) and Eggstravaganza (the scalloped one). The ribbon and bow and the bunting are from Tempting Turquoise. All are from Crafty Ann's. The mount the peacock is on is from a photo masks kit from Jessica Sprague that I changed in Craft Artist 2 by playing around with the textures in the styles tab. The fabulous outline happened with no help from me! I also created the lovely coppery 'brads' in CAP.

Deja vu!

It's barely 2 minutes since I was sharing GS's 21st card with you and now it's one for my nephew! At first glance they resemble each other, but the only things they actually have in common is the box with a framed photo in it. I've still used 2 kits from Cool Scraps (One for the boys and Industrial Way ll) plus 1 from Crafty Ann's (Rhapsody in Blue) but have used different elements and papers from them both. I'm not sure my nephew will forgive me using this photo, but it's long been one of my favourites of him and I couldn't resist! I created the card front in Craft Artist so it's ready for me to print off when I get in inside done

I hope the days goes well for you, thank you for dropping in.

Let it Snow

Today's effort is another Christmas card for the box. It is made mostly from a kit called Requiem of December from Cool Scraps with the addition of the silver bp and one of the snowflakes from Trad-temporary Christmas from Crafty Ann's. It's one of the simplest and quickest I've made this year, even the snow is part of the kit although I gave it a 'glow' edge in Craft Artist to soften it and used it twice so that I could bring a couple of the trees forward and still have the snow coming up around the lower bark. After printing, I've added some stickles glitter glues to the trees and the centre of the snowflakes and that's it!

CACB #78

It's Friday and time for our next challenge at CACB (these fortnights just seem to flash by!) This time we have a Tic Tac Toe challenge for you set by our lovely Kym

I've chosen the top row, gems. ribbon & flowers - although I've just used the one flower. It's the main feature though so I think that makes up for not using more. :)
I've used items from several kits: Cream Dream, Sweet Sage, Imperial Purple, Eggstravagana and Traditional Christmas. In the process, I've got one of my SILs Birthday cards ready for next month - happy days, all I have to do now is remember to post it!
I'm also entering my card into these challenges:

  • Sketch 'n' Stash - I've used sketch #84 and my neglected stash is the bp from the Sweet Sage Kit.
Thank you for dropping by today, I hope you'll get the chance to join us this fortnight.

21 Years? Really???

Yes, really! I'm far too young to have a 21 year old GS of course......but then, he is my step GS and I was only 35 when he was born. I love him like he's my own though and always refer to him as my GS and he returns the favour. I must admit that I was a bit stumped for his card this time so I went in search of a suitable kit and found two at Cool Scraps Digital Boutique. This is a new company to me, but I'm very impressed with the quality of the kits. I've used both in the making of this card and am not sure what is from which kit, I'm sorry. They are called One for the boys and Industrial Way II though if that's any help to you.
As I said, I was really struggling this time then I spotted the handle with care box and it just seemed to fall into place. The photo was taken when he was only a day or so old and he's being held by his delighted and very proud Grandad. I added the picture to a frame from one of the kits before adding it to the box then I had great fun creating the rest around it. He's principally training to be a carpenter but learning other skills too so I designed the card around much of what his life is about now. He's a wonderful pianist too and I've exhausted most of those possibilities in previous years but couldn't resist adding a piece of crumpled music paper which was also in one of the kits. I created it in Craft Artist Pro 2 and have decoupaged the the box and picture to make it pop a bit.

Pink Christmas

Another Christmas card for you this morning. I treated myself to a new kit from Digital Crea called Holy Night and promptly changed the colours! This isn't because I don't like the original but because I was wanting to use the kit but also wanting a pink card! Never mind, I'll make another with the original colours soon. The cluster border down the left hand side is almost how it comes in the kit (apart from the change of colour) apart from the 'star' centres which I've added. I rather like the effect because it's slighlty reminiscent of a dream catcher. I've added other things from other kits to create what I wanted to achieve too - in this case it was some items from Trad-temporary Christmas and one of the silver baubles from Crafty Ann's. I created it all in Craft Artist.
