I really didn't think I was going to find the time to enter the sketch challenge at Digitally Sweet this week but I was feeling a bit 'Christmased out' so decided to snatch a wee bit of time to do a card front for one of the birthdays I have in January. It isn't very often that I go with using just one kit but that's what I've done this time. The kit is called Tranquillity and it's from Cool Scraps. I bought it a couple of months back because I love soft sages and khakis. I put it all together in Craft Artist Pro 2 using one of my own punches for the scalloped layer.
Well better get back to Christmas - thank you for the lovely sketch and challenge girls!
I was inspired to make this card while I was creating the inside of hubby's Christmas card (see post below). I love the robins on the boot and thought they would make a lovely card in their own right. Created in CAP2 using the following kits:
This is one of my upside down posts today. The card I'm sharing with you today is my hubby's Christmas card and doing the write up first lessens the chances of him seeing it before I give it to him so there is method in me madness! lol!
I put it together in Craft Artist 2 and used several kits from:
With Love Studios - Life's Moments. This one was the bird. The one that comes in the kit is a black and white line drawing and isn't a specific bird which I can see could come in very handy. I gave it the 'watercolour' and 'promarker' treatment in ArtRage to turn it into a robin on this occasion and I'm delighted with the results.
I decorated the inside too, but had written in it before I remembered that I hadn't done the photos - all is not lost though, I can still show you the layouts just not in the card.
They will enlarge if you click on them but I wanted to be able to have them side by side as they are in the card. After feeling so rotten for the last couple of weeks, I've really enjoyed creating this. I hope your Christmas preps are going according to plan too and thank you for dropping by at this busy time.
...not really, but I couldn't resist! lol! This card was inspired by the challenge at Digitally Sweet this week which is called 'Ornamental Inspiration' and there's a photo to help inspire you too. Now, I'm not quite sure why this worked the way it did because I love using Christmas baubles/ornaments on my cards in any case but for some reason, it created the idea of using our gorgeous GCs and their parents on the ornaments. I love the end result so thank you girls and in keeping with their challenge criteria being totally digital, this first picture is the layout for the card front.
This is it made into the finished card. The red bp and all the elements (including the gold garland) are from Crafty Ann's, the embossed bp is from Pam Lefors and the gold bp is from With Love Studios. The red paper and the baubles/ornaments are a freebie you can download here. I put it all together in Craft Artist 2.
I can't believe we're at that time of year again already, but it's time for our final challenge of 2012 at CACB! This time our theme is I'm dreaming of a white Christmas and we're looking for a white on white background with a coloured image/topper or purely white on white. As you can see, I've gone for the former. I decided to see if I could manage to do digital paper weaving using white papers - I managed and am very pleased with the result, but I have to tell you that it would have been a lot quicker to do it the old fashioned way with real paper! What I've used:
Snowflakes and red bp from Trad-temporary Christmas, white pearl from Imperial purple and the gold garland - all from Crafty Ann's.
The original idea for this Christmas card came from the current challenge at Digitally Sweet, which is buttons and is the reason I'm showing it to you twice. This first picture shows the digital card front and the second one is it made up into a card.
I've had hardly any time to create this week, but I've managed to get another couple of Christmas cards done and this is the first of them. It's a simple one really but one I'm pleased with because I like the clean look of it. What I've used:
Turquoise bp and snowflake from Trad-temporary Christmas, ribbon & bow from Tempting Turquoise, Pearl from Imperial Purple (the colour changed using Craft Artist 2), Silver Garland. All from Crafty Ann's
