Lest We Forget

Today, I'm going to share a card with you that I hadn't intended to put on my blog. In august our Grandson's step-brother was one of the British casualties in Afghanistan. He had only been there for 3 weeks and was just 20 years old. The reason I've changed my mind about showing you the card I made for his Dad & our GS, is because Stampin' Royalty's Challenge this week is Lest We Forget and they ask us to make something in rememberance of those who have given their lives in the service of their country. Ooh-la-la Challenge also have a rememberance theme this fortnight.

Tomorrow is rememberance day here in the UK and I'm proud to do this in gratitude to Darren and all those who make the ultimate sacrifice to keep us safe.

I drew the poppy wreath and coloured it with promarkers. Darren was a Sapper with the Royal Engineer Regiment and my husband found a picture of the cap badge on the internet which I added to the centre of the wreath with foam pads to make sure that it took centre stage. Darren was so proud of being a soldier and loved his life in the army.
