It's time for Challenge #27 at CACB and this one is rather special because it's our first birthday! What a fast year this has been and we've had a humungous amount of talent and inspiration shared with us during this time and we'd like to thank you for that. Seeing as it's such a special challenge, there are a lot of prizes on offer both on the challenge blog and on all the DT blogs too. Everyone who leaves a comment on this post will be added to the draw to win a digi stamp or pre-coloured sheet of choice - the rest of the DT are doing draws too so don't forget to pop over to see them. The full details of all the prizes are on the challenge blog.
Our theme this time is a Christmas card or project using non-traditional colours. For my card I've used a faberge style poinsettia egg from the new pre-coloured sheet although this design is also available as a digi stamp. The pre-coloured sheet has the same design in 6 different colours both traditional and non-traditional. It'll come as no surprise to learn that I took a fancy for the purple option for this one although I will admit that I had a heck of a job getting the photo not to look blue!! I eventually got there though - by having the camera on the setting for snow! The bps are from the mottled stone collection 5 and the new poinsettia collection. I've matted the egg onto silver mirri cut out with a nesties label 4 die and embellished with a couple of Marianne Designs swirls. The greeting, which is one of the Christmas Tickets was overlaid onto a piece of the mottled stone bp (cropped to size) before printing it out. A very simple card really and pretty quick to do which I think we sometimes need as Christmas gets ever closer.
I'm also entering my card into these challenges:
