All our yesterdays with a modern twist?

Believe it or not, this is the first card I've been able to make since I got back from holiday! I enjoyed it all the more for having to wait though - the question is: has it worked? It's for two challenges, Tanda Teaser which was set by Wendy this week and is called "All our yesterdays" and TGIF's sketch challenge - this week set by Katharina. For the sketch, I've used a mix of papers from the paper mill shop and some that came free with a magazine last year. The piece of copper card was put through a cuttlebug folder for added texture. The stamps are: the flourish is from a crafty secrets set that I got from Joanna Sheen, and the main image is from rubbadubbadoo and just stamped using versafine vintage sepia with a little extra colour added by watercolouring with a whispers strokes pen. The sentiment on the tag reads: "it's a friend thing". Thank you for coming to look and I'd value your opinion.

A Facelift For An Old Friend

Well I came out in a cold sweat earlier - we couldn't access the internet!!!! Today of all days too! After much fiddling and unplugging and rebooting and stuff we eventually phoned our provider who told us there'd been a problem in our area and talked my DH through what to do to reset it (we are with a cable company which is usually very good and a lot faster). Why was it so important this morning?
It's because today I feel very honoured - Cynthia has asked me to be the first guest designer on her challenge blog and I'm both thrilled and a bit nervous! I hope that those of you who enjoy challenges will enjoy this one and join in the fun! You'll find a description of what I did with this scrapbook page on Rainbow Lady's Challenge blog so I needn't bore you with it again here. Thank you for visiting!

Christmas Angels

Well here we are - two weeks (and a bit) gone just like that!! We've had a great chill out break and now it's back to reality. I'm still trying to catch up with everything and think it will take some time but I have been entering Rainbow Lady's challenges since she started them and only wanted to miss one if possible so had to have a look at last week's challenge just as soon as I could - and lo and behold I have a card that is just begging to be entered - isn't that wonderful??? It's a DL - a size I love working with. The images and strip of backing paper are from Joanna Sheen's Victorian Christmas CD and have been mounted onto a central strip of card which was punched down each side with a ribbon style punch and I threaded gold ribbon through the slots. This central panel was then edged with gold mirror peel offs to give definition. Thanks for coming to look - it's great to be back!

Birds

Well, I really did think that yesterday's challenge would be my last till after our holiday, but then our lovely Cynthia has come up with a challenge that I can enter as I already have a card which is perfect for it. So this is my entry for Rainbow Lady's Challenge - Birds. The images once again come from Joanna Sheens' Victorian Companion CDs (I do have others - honest!!) as does the backing paper behind the frame. The frame was made using the Glitter Girls Framey board. The blue glitter card was put through the cuttlebug small mosaics folder and it was embellished with vellum butterflies and crystals - oh and some peel off corners that with hindsight I think are probably a step too far but are too well stuck down to get back off!! Thank you for visiting and I hope you like it.

3D with a Ribbon

Today I'm entering a card I made a while ago into two challenges - My Time To Craft's ribbon challenge and Arty Girlz' 3D challenge. It's one of my favoutite images from Joanna Sheen's Victorian Companion CDs and it lends itself beautifully to decoupage. I used a backing paper from the same set and some silver card as a base for the main image and finished it off with some peel off corners and borders and a lovely white hand tied organza ribbon bow. I haven't been able to bring myself to part with it since I made it!! This may be my last challenge entry for a couple of weeks as we're off on holiday to Gran Canaria at the weekend.

Pink, black, silver.....and Tilda!

Here she is again - my one and only Tilda stamp....I think we can definitely say I'm getting value for money! This one is for Rainbow Lady's Challenge - yes a whole week's gone by since the last one - and this time Cynthia has come up with black and pink plus one other colour. A great challenge that I thoroughly enjoyed doing. I've gone back to a spring card for this and really kept it very simple. A hoop of silver foiled card embossed with the cuttlebug has a semi circle of pink glitter card behind it for Tilda to sit on. Tilda has been painted with twinkling H2Os and is wearing her black jeans in honour of the occasion - the colour for the jeans and shoes was a mix of several twinkling H2Os. Two triangles of the pink glitter card with two pink flower buttons threaded with sparkly pink yarn on the base complete the card. Thank you for your visit.
